Using the LibGuide Selection Tool in Blackboard

Please note that not all content is fully compatible yet, but we can customize content to work with specific courses as well. Please contact Ken Fujiuchi at fujiuck@buffalostate.edu if you are interested in course customized library content.

  1. Go to your Blackboard course content section.
  2. Look for the Tools drop down and choose LibGuides.
  3. Give it a name (how it will appear in the list of content) and any other options you would like to set.
  4. You should now see the content name appear in your list of content. Click on the name.
  5. Select your LibGuides CMS site.
  6. Select the type of content you want to embed. Additional options appear based on the type of content you selected:
    • Full LibGuide: the entire guide - header through footer - displays in the page.
      • Manual selection: Choose from the list of published and private guides from your site.
      • Match by Metadata: (Not supported)
    • Single Page: just the one page from a guide, excluding navigation.
      • Select the guide from the list of published and private guides from your site.
      • Select the page from the guide. (Only visible pages are listed.)
    • Content Item: one box from a guide displays in the page.
      • Choose the guide from the list of published and private guides from your site.
      • Choose the page from the guide. (Only visible pages are listed.)
      • Choose the box from the page. (Only visible boxes are listed.)
