Internet Explorer Upgrade Information

Here is some important information related to Internet Explorer that IE users should be aware of.

  • Microsoft has ended support for Internet Explorer 10 on January 12, 2016

  • We are in the process of upgrading campus PCs to Internet Explorer 11

  • Faculty/Staff PCs were upgraded to Internet Explorer 11 on March 2, 2016

  • Student PC labs will be upgraded to Internet Explorer 11 during spring break (week of March 21-25)

  • Students/faculty/staff are advised to update their personal computers to Internet Explorer 11

Until student PCs labs are upgraded to Internet Explorer 11, students using PCs on campus may encounter some of the pages below when launching IE, logging into Blackboard, or logging into Degree Works:

Page: “Time to upgrade your browser”

Recommendation: Ignore the “Get it now” button and simply close the tab/window.


Page: “Your browser has been upgraded”

Recommendation: Close the tab/window.


Page: “To improve security, update your browser settings”

Recommendation: Click the “Continue Without Updating” button.
