How do I show a DVD in class?
Answer
Starting in the fall of 2025, DVD playback capabilities will only be available in a limited number of generally scheduled classrooms.
This is because optical drives are no longer an option for campus workstations. As old workstations are replaced, they will lose the optical drives.
Banner and 25Live contain attributes that designate classrooms that still have DVD playback capabilities. Faculty members who need to show DVDs in class should indicate this when scheduling the class.
IT will have a small number of portable DVD drives for emergency situations.

There are limited options for streaming video. The library absorbs the cost of all streaming content. This is currently $150 per film, per year. There are no perpetual access options.
