Bengal Card is the multipurpose photo ID issued to students, faculty, and staff at Buffalo State. Each card has a unique identification number assigned to the cardholder. It is the official ID for the use of college services and facilities.

Your Bengal Card has many important uses:

  • Library Card
Your Bengal Card is used to check out materials and reserve items at Butler Library and can be used to check out materials at all other SUNY libraries.
  • Printing and Photocopying with Bengal Bucks
Your Bengal Card may be used to make photocopies and laser prints in the library (learn more). Money may be added to your card in the form of Bengal Bucks. To add Bengal Bucks to your card, use the add-value machines located near the printers in the library's StudyQuad lab. There is also an add-vlaue machine in the Student Union. Alternatively, you may add Bengal Bucks to your card online via the Dine-On-Campus webite https://dineoncampus.com/bsc/choose-your-meal-plan.
  • Extended Library Hours Bengal Card
For security purposes, all current Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff must produce a valid Bengal Card for admittance to the library after 11:00 p.m.
  • Meal Card
Your Bengal Card is your meal debit card for all food services on campus.
  • Vending
Your card can also be used to get snacks and beverages from campus vending machines.

  1. I had to go on Google in order to ask what a Buffalo State ID card could be used for! Do you know if this is a composite list because I thought students could use the card also to get discounted tickets for events in Rockwell Hall and to campus sporting events?

  2. Hi Gwendolyn. There are additional services and discounts available in our community if you show your Buffalo State Student ID, but I'm not sure if there is a comprehensive list. We just list the services that directly rely on the use of the Bengal ID Card.
